The guide's boat you will be using is made by Vip - Bay Stealth and it is a Fish Catching Machine. It's a 2006, 22.3 foot Center Console with a Honda 4 Stroke 200 HP Outboard . It's equipped with a Lowrance LCX-27 Sonar GPS Combo on the Console, with an additional Humminbird 1197 Side Image (so we can see all) and a Lowrance LMS-332 and Humminbird 997 on the
Bow, MinnKota 101 Lb Thrust Trolling Motor, Bee Ready Fishing Rod Holders, leaning post, two extra large live wells and more! You will not find a more comfortable boat for your next successful fishing trip. For more information about the Boat and Equipment you will be using see Boat.

What to Bring and Wear on Your Next Memorable Fishing Trip

With Texas Guide Fishing Service
  • Texas Fishing License - Required for all persons over the age of 16 years old. If you don't currently have a license, Wal-mart is a good source, and pretty much all sporting goods suppliers. Cost for a one day Texas Resident is $10 . Cost for a one day Non Texas Resident is $15 . Cost for a full year (good Sept thru Aug) Texas Resident Freshwater is $28. Cost for a full year Non Texas Resident Freshwater is $55. Also you can call Texas Parks and Wildlife to obtain your license at 800-895-4248 (Mon-Fri 9:00am-6pm) or order online at www.tpwd.state.tx.us. Let me know if you need help locating where to get your license.
  • Drinks, Snacks, and Ice Chest - Bring whatever food, drinks or snacks you would like to have during your fishing trip. Also bring your personal cooler to place in the boat for your drinks and snacks. You will also need your cooler or an additional cooler with ICE to carry your cleaned fish home in.
  • Fishing  Equipment - I have plenty (all types of rod and reels, just what we need for the fishing we will do). But if you want to bring your equipment, please do. I want you to totally enjoy your fishing trip.
  •  Life Jackets for Children under 13 - Texas Law requires; All Children under the age of 13 must wear a life jacket while the boat is moving. Texas Guide Fishing Service has all the required Life Jackets on board we will need including for the kids. But if you already have life jackets for the kids that fit just perfect, bring them.
  • Sunscreen - Always put on your Sunscreen, (you know that). I'll have some if you forget.
  • For Summer, Early Fall and Late Spring Fishing Trips - Dress to stay cool. Wear a Hat , and protect yourself from the Sun.
  • For Fall, Winter and early Spring Fishing Trips - Dress for it to be colder than you think it might be, it's always colder on the water (you can always take off coats, wind shirts etc..., but you can't put them on if you don't have them). Dress in layers.
  • Rain Gear - Texas Guide Fishing has some Rain Gear if we should get caught in a shower, but if the forecast happens to call for a
     chance of rain, please bring your own rain gear (you will probably like yours better).
  • Bring your camera - I'll have a digital camera and will take photos of your catch and Email them to you. But if you're a photo buff, bring your camera. You will get some great shots. 



What you should Expect


Expect to catch a lot of fish - I myself (Mark Parker) expect for you to catch a lot of fish, otherwise we would not be going fishing. I spend a lot of time looking and keeping on top of the fish, so that when I take you (the customer) out you can catch fish and not spend a lot of your time looking for fish or just simply trying to catch fish. We want to catch fish (and lots of them). If at the time of your booking the fishing happens to be off, I'll tell you that also. I will always be truthful with you. Rescheduling your trip is an option.
 
During March through May, all fish bite well. Expect lots of Hybrids and White Bass first and foremost at Richland Chambers. Also during these Spring months the Crappie fishing at Richland Chambers can be very good. Another consideration could be Crappie and White Bass at both Aquilla and Navarro Mills.
During June through September, At Richland Chambers the Hybird/Stripers and White Bass are good to GREAT. The summers of 2006 thru 2008 have been very, very good at Richland Chambers. Also on Aquilla and Navarro Mills expect the Crappie to bite very good (limits are very common and actually expected, especially during July thru September). We have a chance to limit out on both Crappie and White Bass, on Aquilla and Navarro Mills.
 
During October through February the White Bass and Hybrids are very, very good at Richland Chambers. October and November provides some good Top Water Action on Richland Chambers, while December through February we Slab the Striper/Hybrids up from the deeper water, sometimes two at a time. Those Hybrids are fun to catch!
 
 Also the December through Feburary time frame is when we do the Trophy Blue Cat Fishing (Big, Big Blue Cats), you have to try that, they will wear you OUT!
